Fort Campbell Fire Suppression Class 13 students graduate from UA VIP program

A new group of United Association Veterans in Piping (UA VIP) students completed their fire suppression training at Fort Campbell on April 18.

Over the last 118 days, these students learned the basics of installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining fire sprinkler systems.

Class 13 students had the opportunity to earn various industry-recognized certifications such as Rigging and Signaling, CPVP, Life Operator, Firestop Systems, OSHA 30 and more. Graduating with these certificates and knowledge gives VIP graduates a leg up when they begin their apprenticeship.

The UA VIP Program is a DOD SkillBridge program designed to help active-duty service members transition back to civilian life as smoothly as possible.

After transitioning from the military, VIP graduates are guaranteed direct entry into a DOL-registered UA apprenticeship program at an agreed-upon location.

Journeyman instructor Curtis Amos taught basic fire suppression through hands-on training and classroom instruction.

The UA VIP Program offers career training in welding, HVAC-R and fire suppression at the seven military bases listed below:
